I'd certainly wait for player reviews on how the balance in multiplayer is, since that's the lasting feature of the game.

Worst that happens is you pick it up in a steam sale a bit down the line if you want it.

I think I'm quite glad I waited on this one. Reading most of the user reviews around the place, it's a poor shadow of FA so I'll just stick to playing that methinks :P

Best bet seems to be getting it from a digital source these days as it's sold out most places...

http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/5254/prod ... e-Download - 10 quid

http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/3435606 ... Price&fb=0 - one used one @ 8 quid

Half price atm, now on Steam for £12.50 over the weekend.

Still not decided if I'm gonna take a punt on it at that price, it'll depend on whether anyone else goes for it really as I'll only be buying it for multiplayer.

Is 2 less hardcore RTS than 1, or more or less the same? I might be tempted, if it is a bit more accessible. I will give the Demo a try. Anyway it won't be before Sunday that I can have a look, not at my own place until Sunday evening.

The demo didn't really speak to me, I'd rather spend my money on a book to entertain me while I take advantage of the two weeks of summer.

The demo did appeal a bit to me. I've pretty much been waiting for a good weekend deal. Seems the base price is also down now, only €32.99 left. And half off this weekend (€16,49). Tempting...

Vulc - it is a lot more accessible and it's the main reason why I haven't picked it up, in many ways it's supreme commander lite so if that was what annoyed you about the original, I dare say SC2 is right up your street.

As I say, if a few people pick it up, I may do so as well but I'm gonna remain on the fence for the time being :P

I bought it. Never played a online RTS before, so lets try. This one is probably as good as any to start with.
